the one with words that soothe my heart
How sweet the Name of Jesus sounds
In a believer's ear!
It soothes his sorrow, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.
It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
'Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary rest.
Dear Name! the Rock on which we build;
Our shield and hiding-place;
Our never-failing treasury, filled
With boundless stores of grace.
Jesus, our Savior, Shepherd, Friend,
Our Prophet, Priest, and King;
Our Lord, our Life, our Way, our End,
Accept the praise we bring.

the one with our favorite place
Papa Brackner Park is one of our favorite places. My aunt found this tiny little park hidden away in McCalla. We had our engagement pictures there, our wedding was there, and we go there often always to celebrate our love. I know that sounds corny, but its totally true. This little park is a place of joy for us, and it always reminds us of all the good things in our lives.
We took Chloe Belle to our park for the first time yesterday. It was bright and sunny, promising of Spring to come! It was so fun to have her there.
Life at our park:
we're engaged! January 2007
we're married! May 2007

our first anniversary May 2008
we're a family of three! March 2010
Here's my facebook album with all the pictures from our trip to the park yesterday

the one where I know I'm a mommy
Today Chloe Belle got her 2 month shots. She cried REALLY hard. I cried too.
Remember when your mom used to say, "I promise it hurts me more than it hurts you"? Remember how we always thought she was stupid? Well, today I said that to Chloe as she got her shots, and I really meant it. Now I can officially join the mommy club.

the one where I'm sad
Yesterday I was on CNN.com reading some article about the Oscars. I clicked on a link to read an article about celebrity religious tattoos (yes this is embarrassing but oh well.) There were pictures of 10 celebrity tattoos. Nine of them had Christian origins, most were crosses.
Last night at UMin worship we sang the song, "Beautiful the Blood." One verse says, "Never knew these nails would love unfold, Never knew these wounds would heal my soul."
Made me so sad. I thought about how so many people use the cross as decoration and art. They're familiar with the cross, but they don't know that His wounds will heal their soul. It makes my heart ache with the pain of the world's lostness.
I'm so grateful that God has healed my soul and I so desire others to know His healing and love.
